A minimal cost project (no foundation cost, no wall costs) to utilize the Earth’s core temperature and the heat mass storage capabilities within aquaponics, to reduce (or eliminate) winter heating requirements. A 60 foot by 15 foot, by 6 foot deep hole has been excavated with plans developed to house a family sized aquaponic operation (powered by the sun) along with a square foot family garden within this “hole”. The concept originated with the Indians (similar to a grow hole) and has been tested by the Benson institute.
